How many members on this site are ladies?

At the risk of starting WW111, I have a question to ask.

Sometimes my 28 yr old petrol head daughter has been reading over my shoulder as I post comments on here. This evening she made a comment, quote - 'After years you have found a like minded bunch of people to talk to, they must all be mad like you ( I fear she has something there ) quote continued - from what I have read, I bet not one site member is female' end quote. This is a lass who not only had boy band posters on her wall as a teenager, but also posters of a Ferrari Enzo, Lambo, Boss Mustang etc, which drove my ex effin mental Rolling with laughter

One of daughter's comments was - There are lots of women who own range rovers, but probably none daft enough to talk to muppets like you lot. She can be so cruel at times. Censored ( So misogynistic !!! I tell her )

This is coming from daughter who is giving me endless grief, 'cos' she is not on my insurance policy to drive my fatty, this, whilst she is a bloody demon in a transit. ( Believe me, I have seen the repair bills Big Cry )

Warning - For those of a nervous disposition, it is advisable that you do not show this post to your SO's, married or not! Rolling with laughter

Irreverent post probably, but worth a gamble, for a laugh, after all life's too short. One life, live it, and be damned as to the consequences. Admittedly, this is easy to say when one is single. Rolling with laughter

Thinking behind this missive, is that there are numerous funny comments in posts regarding the HIWMBO variety, ( Comments about wheel / tyre combos hidden in the garden spring to mind, ahem Whistle )
So I know many people must have a SO who has an influence as to comments posted.

Lastly, I have a bet with my daughter, that the number of female members, ( not participants ) is probably zero.
Help needed to win £20 bet. Off Topic I know, apologies to all in advance.

The odd libation 'or two' may have been consumed during this post, Thumbs Up

Creepy, sexist and mostly cringeworthy...according to the three females in my household, and I can see their point...

SWMBO occasionally stops what she's doing, Cooking, Cleaning, Baking, Washing etc. to tell me I'm an old fool who can't sing, can't whistle, can't dance but I'm the ONLY person in this household who drives a Range Rover. I have lots of time to do this because I don't do any household chores - not true as I'm sure some of you figured out - I sometimes put stuff in the dishwasher. Rolling with laughter Geoff

I have an 11year old who is a complete petrol head too!!
she has a bunch of broken engine bits that came out of a 10,000 HP drag car take pride of place in her bedroom!!
she also gave me a list of components needed to build a monster truck when she was 8. this included things like V8 Engine, Supercharger, methional tank & wheels taller than daddy!!

She is often found with ratchet in hand working with me on the FF, i still have to loosen things for her but she can change disc's & pads just does not yet have the brute force required.
She carried out the last oil change too all i did was watch Thumbs Up 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

Good for her Thumbs Up

I think the original post would put any females off contributing to the thread. It's pretty sexist. Exclamation John

Just to clarify, my post was never meant to be sexist, it was meant in a funny and respectful manner. Maybe some people read too much into it. Maybe I should have used different wording.
My daughter does some car maintenance, and numerous other do it yourself jobs, building wise, just as Jayk's daughter.

As for the use of the terms, Lady or Ladies, this was meant in the same way that some women would call a man a 'Gentleman' It would appear that whichever term I used to describe the female gender these days is considered sexist.
A while back in my work, on one ship I served on we had an female engineer cadet. This cadet was very good, but way behind in her studies and knowledge. Due to my guidance she managed to 'catch up' and qualify as a marine engineer. She did suffer some from some sexist behaviour, from others on board. I was the one who went on the warpath when this occurred. Irrespective of gender I have helped a lot of cadets with their training.

My daughter read this thread and said maybe wording should have been different, then said quote 'Anyone who knows you, knows you are not sexist.

As for the comment about my ex and the car posters my daughter put up in her house, my Ex is not a nice person and my comments are justified, my biggest mistake during the marriage was coming home on leave and spoiling her social life by being in the way. you can work out the rest.

So have a nice weekend everyone and take life with a pinch of salt.

@Dunc relatively good value a big bag of Haribo would probably do it Rolling with laughter

@Merchy seemed pretty reasonable to me and surprised there are no female members to be honest Shocked

and as for my girls they are twins one would not be seen dead getting her hands oily, she normally sits in with her Mum making scented wax melts or doing her nails. Though she loves nothin more than going for a blast in the neighbours Audi R8!! and will drop a window on the motorway if she see's something special blasting down the road just to listen to the engine howl 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current
