FBH issues

Hi all, I can’t get my FBH to fire up.

The timer and manual start switches on the fans etc but not the FBH, I purchased a diagnostic lead from Futuranet and connected it, it shows no faults and allows me to run component tests and all the components work individually, I’ve had smoke come out so fuel is getting in and the glow plug is getting hot.
In the Webasto test program however all the modes for switching the heater on etc are all greyed out so I can’t get the test program to fire the FBH fully up either.

I have tried to contact Futuranet for help but have got no reply either on email or FB messenger and telephone just cuts off.

Has anyone had a similar issue, is there a step that I’m missing? Would love to get the FBH working now as winter comes.

Thanks in advance for any advice/help

Ah ok, I had selected Thermo Top C/Z BMW as that was suggested on most of the forums I had seen.

The unit is a Thermo Top Z/C shall I select something other than the BMW version then?

On the unit it has LandRover Webasto XH42 9J294CC Thermo Top Z/C Diesel.

Thanks for your help

This evening I had a friend clear all the codes in the car, I didn’t see what the one for the fbh was unfortunately, anyway tonight I switched on the manual heat via the touch screen and the FBH fired into life, the pump was clicking and I could smell the fumes although I didn’t see smoke. The fuel pumped stopped after a couple of mins and the the FBH switched of shortly after.
So it’s back to getting the diagnostic lead back onto the FBH and finding out why it’s shut off.
Does anyone know of an easier way to connect to the FBH other than removing the passenger wheel arch and then the pump?

Unless your 12v battery is absolutely top notch the FBH wont run for long. Mine was exactly like this, i proved it by running the FBH with a battery charger connected, it then ran on as it should, I fitted a new 12v battery and was greeted every morning with a nice warm car. BMW i3 Electric Car

Sorry all, didn’t realise that I hadn’t posted an update for this, the problem in the end was the fuel dosing pump, even though it was clicking it wasn’t actually pumping any fuel to the heater.
I replaced the pump as it was very rusty and not pumping anything and now the FBH works perfectly, comes on automatically when the engine is cold and works when I set the time for it to come on, been working fine ever since with no issues.
