I thought I'd pop a wanted ad up to catch anyone considering selling once the social distancing restrictions allow. Might save someone the bother of advertising and me the bother of looking

I've been around Land Rover's long enough to know that a good one is worth making concessions for, so definitely willing to listen to something that doesn't fit all of the criteria but still worth a look. My current targets are:

2006 onwards
4.2 supercharged preferred, TDV8 otherwise fine, 4.4 Petrol V8 also considered
<150k miles
20" wheels with non-budget tyres
I like some of the toys the Vogue SE has, but all the main ones are on a Vogue so I've dropped the 'SE' requirement

Mine's a bit old for you (178k miles), but it does have FSH, I'm in Cheltenham and I'd take £4k.

You will find something in the meantime no doubt, but I thought I'd mention it anyway

Well specced and decent amount left in the budget to tackle the bad points. My current Disco is being MOT'd tomorrow. I'll revisit it then as at that price, I could move quicker. Obviously I'd rather not have to tackle any bad points but they're going to rock up at some point during ownership whatever, so it's kicked off a train of thought

Yeah that was exactly my thinking - buy a cheap one and have money by to sort the issues. You could spend £8k on one and still have expensive things to fix.

I plan to replace it with either a Discovery or a van - probably a van if I'm honest, but just for the sake of it whats the spec on your Disco?  Pikey by name, not by nature

It's a 2001 Disco 2, V8. And it's now passed two MOTs in a row! It's amazing what Land Rovers will do when you throw enough money at them...
