What does this button do?

Hi everyone,

A few days ago I saw a posting on one of the dozens of LR forums asking about a button by the drivers pedals. I can't find the post and today I found out I have that button too! Looked through the owner's manual and service manual but can't find it anywhere. The only reference is to access the steering column the SM says to disconnect the electrical connector.

Here's the button in question.

So, anyone have any idea what this is button does?

Thanks!

ISTR it's a switch for transport mode. Used from factory to dealer and decommisioned on PDI by the dealer. I think it sets the car to sleep when parked up or on a car mover, to stop the car waking up and messing aobut with things like self levelling etc. Probably helps reduce battery drain. Cheers

As in above post, plus, apparently the receiving dealership should have either removed or disabled this switch prior to delivery to customer.
Have seen a thread on here about this, but couldn't find it today. At least one thing less to worry about Sir Thumbs Up

Merchy,

The switch may already be disabled since when I press it (either side) it doesn't appear to do anything.

I wonder if there's a dummy plate they should have put there. Now I'll have to see if one is available.

Just out of curiosity, what's the procedure to put the car into transportation mode?

Thanks!

As I said the dealer decommisions it at PDI. As you say it does nothing now, so it has been.

You don't use it again. Cheers

Hmmm. A switch that's hard to find that has no purpose. Makes me wonder if some clever types here can come up with a new use for it. Maybe some added security? Just a thought Smile.

Thanks again,
