4.2 SC Fan Shroud Fixings

Gents,

The fan shroud on my SC was broken when I bought it and wasn't secured properly. I've just fitted a new one but am confused with securing it.

The clips are in the 2 areas I've circle red and come from the engine side towards the front of the car. I'm reading mixed reviews saying they should be screws (steel screws into an aluminium radiator seem an odd choice) and some people say they should be black press studs.

Could someone possibly take a picture of what secure the fan shroud to the radiator please?

Thanks in advance.
David.

I just had a look at mine for you. They look like steel self tappers, mine are rusty hence knowing they are steel. They thread into the lip on top of the radiator.

Hope that helps

Recently had mine off! Although it’s on a 4.4TDV8 they were self tappers into the plastic shroud & some liked to snap when touched Big Cry Rolling with laughter 2011 (MY12) 4.4 TDV8 Vogue

I really despise the idea of steel into aluminium as it corrodes.

LR list plastic clips in the manual and say that it takes 3 of them to hold the shroud on so I’m going to order them up and then remove the screws. Should help the longevity of the radiator that way.

That’s what I’ve got on mine now rather then the self tappers Smile 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Try PYQ000020. Two at the top as you show and one half way down on the right hand side when viewed from the front of the car looking
towards the back of the car.

Those are the ones I've got in mine now Smile

Much happier with these then metal self tappers in an aluminium radiator.
