Cobra AT 2130 - What is it?

Whilst fitting a towbar I discovered a black box mentioned in the title fitted under the stowage area off side rear wing.
It has a GPS aerial and what I presume to be a GSM aerial attached behind the rear bumper.

I guessed straight away it was some kind of alarm / tracker.
I can find no info though other than an advert for one second hand in Russia!
The advert shows what looks like 2 id cards that the user would normally carry - I don't have these cards!

Cobra alarms seem to have been taken over by Vodaphone automotive and still sell trackers - but much newer models.

My concern is I don't know what systems on my FF it's connected into.
I assume it's been put into a service mode or such like to stop it arming.
What are the chances of it rebooting after say a battery change and imobilising my car?

Ideally I want to remove it - thought I'd ask on here in case anyone has seen one, had experience with one or has a diagram of how these connect into the car.

Any help or advice gratefully received

I've recently removed a 2006 vintage Tracker from our 3.6TDV8.
After checking where the wire ran, it was nowhere near as complicated as I was thinking.
There were actually only 3 connections into the car - Permanent live, Ignition switched Live & an Earth.
Although there were 2 Tracker boxes linked by a multi core cable and with aerial cables - which made it superficially look worse.
Unless yours is linked to the vehicle immobiliser (but why if the car already has the OE immobiliser ?), it should be equally simple.

Just to have the Tracking function it only needs power and an earth connection as a min.
Arming / Disarming would have been done via a remote fob with the wallet style cards / mini tags used for additional Radio Frequency correct driver proximity sensing.

Try and track the various cables back and see what they're connected to.
It may be simpler than you think ! Paul,

Thanks Paul, I think you are probably right.
I've seen some Cora alarms mention connecting into the can bus, pretty sure they are newer models but like you say if I trace the wires it would be obvious if it does connect to the can bus.

I guess I just needed to hear someone else has done it without causing any issues, it's the most complex (electronically) car I've ever owned Smile Anything can be made to work if you fiddle with it long enough (and have deep pockets|)
