Need help replacing rear/center console blower

((Have seen some previous threads but no actual details on how to get in there))

This is the unit located under the storage compartment within the center console. The thing is staring back at me through the cup holder port, but I can’t seem to get in there. Thinking I might have to remove the entire center console, and if so looking for guidance (hiding spots for all the screws and bolts - etc).

This blower is critical for me as I’m in the tropics, where I have previously removed the back seats and built a carpeted platform for my two boxers Smile

Any assistance would be fantastic - thank you!

Download the workshop manual from the wiki (link top right) all the info is in there....

It's not too bad a job apart from the hinges of the lift up centre arm rest, you need more hands than you have to get them out...

Some of it will be covered in PowerfulUK videos for changing the wood trim in the rear console...

https://www.youtube.com/user/powerfulukltd

They do make it look easier than it is though....!!

The hinge parts are available separately and are pretty cheap if you break them...!!

Good Luck Thumbs Up Pete

Hey Pete, thanks for the prompt reply!

I had one manual and downloaded another where the system in laid out, but no procedures for removal. Then yes, I’ve seen some of those videos for trim upgrades as well which shows a bit of breakdown.

I had started pulling the the armrest and back apart, but again would really appear that I must remove the whole center console? If so; typical nightmare as I haven’t even ordered the part yet, so this will be down for awhile...

CLARIFICATION = remove the whole center console?

Never had to change one myself but it's not a huge job to get the console out, just lots to do, take plenty of pictures at each stage and you'll be fine... Pete
