I e just received an e-mail supposedly from Land Rover advising me that I haven’t set up my In-Control account (text below). I didn’t follow the link embedded in the mail, but used the one from my renewal notice. My account looks good to me, with subscriptions running until 2022 on a three of my products.

iPhone talks to the car and performs the required functions as well as displaying my past journeys.

Anybody else received this, or am I missing something?

If I’m missing something then I happy to rectify it. If it’s a hoax, it might serve as a warning to others.

"We’re getting in touch as we notice that you have not yet set up your InControl account. This means that you won’t currently have access to your InControl subscriptions such as Land Rover Remote, Land Rover Secure Tracker or Secure Tracker Pro and Land Rover Connected Infotainment Services."

I have also receive a couple of these over the last two days. I just deleted them
My In control app and car bits work fine.
So either a scam (but origin address looks genuine) or its left and right hands syndrome. 2008 Vogue Black - gone

2019 Autobiography Grey - gone
2020 SVAutobiography Red

i didnt get an email but every time i logged onto the incontrol site it told me my subscription needed renewing but it all worked... ... - .- -.

I received an e mail on Friday from LR with the subject heading ‘Help protect your Land Rover from theft. Is this the same one everyone is referring to?

In the body of the e mail under the section title ‘Secure Tracker / Secure Tracker Pro’ there is reference to Guardian Mode in the final paragraph. I had to read the e mail twice before seeing reference to it. Apparently it monitors your vehicle and provides an alert if any interference occurs such as the vehicle being unlocked, doors being opened, or the engine started. Every time you apply it or cancel it you get confirmation to the mobile number you recorded when setting up Incontrol. I set it every time the car is locked although I haven’t tried seeing what happens if I unlock the car with GM still activated.

Guardian Mode only shows in the latest LR app - the one that is white on the top half and green on the lower half of the icon. This one
