L405 gearbox reset

Hi, read this on the internet and wondered if it worked ?

I used to do it on my bmw 5 series but didn’t know if RR have this process to reset gearbox memory ?

Here are the instructions on how to re-set the memory on your Automatic Gearbox.

1) Press Start button but don't turn on the engine.
2) Press the Accelerator down to the floor for about 15 seconds.
3) Hit the start button again to turn off the power.
4) Remove foot from Accelerator
5) Wait for 2 Mins.
6) Start the engine and Drive.

Simple but very effective- you WILL notice a difference- it re-sets the learnt driving/gear changes back to factory- re do as and when required.

I did just this process on my C63 Mercedes and it did work.
The difference was very noticeable.
Only needed to do it once in the time I owned it but worthwhile.

Only do this if there are specific issues. I’ve only ever done it once on my BMW 750iL. The car only did 5K miles per year by an old boy and it was driven slow. I didn’t want to wait on adaption to adapt to me.

And get hold of the procedure to run it in after the reset before going into adaption mode.

So I did try this then took it for a good run after. Made sure I was driving well through the gear changes.
I believe I noticed a difference so I was just checking if it was an actual thing and I’d not just imagined it ?
Did something similar on my bmw 535 a few years ago when a bmw master tech recommended it and that was noticeable too !
