Retro Fitting a Key Hole! | |
Hi
So I have a 2011 4.4 VSE it’s a great car, I will use it for my adventures kayaking and climbing, one niggle for me is the Key aspect- it’s Huge and very delicate - I do winter climbing, white water kayaking etc, something that’s small and robust on my person is what I need
In my other cars I have been able to get a wet key that means I can lock the car and then just lock the drivers door using a key blade my understanding is underneath the end cap on the handle I already have a lock barrel, snapping the cover on and off will soon break it and I am minded to try and retrofit an earlier end cap that has the barrel exposed
Google finds me lots of “covers” but nothing obvious for just a end cap with the hole already there, Anyone have a beaker that might have this little bit of plastic? All the covers I think will be oversized as i don’t want to fit “bling” handles - I love the grey over the dark blue paintwork
Any other options, the later cars have an “active key” but thats still a bit naff (I have seen it used in anger) and the whole keyless thing is just a recipe for car theft
Cheers
