Welcome. You can ask pretty much anything on here, and get lots of different points of view based on each person’s experience. I’ve had my 2016 MY L405 about 2.5 years and it’s been faultless, others have had issues. They are great cars and even with their foibles they are a joy to own

Thanks Smile What engine do you have ? I’ve gone for the SDV8 4.4 as was advised is the better engine.

It's like religion - your engine is the best engine Laughing

I have an SDV8 too BTW

For anyone that has filled in their profile - you can see what they have by clicking on the little car logo to the left of the message box (next to the flag) Thumbs Up

Mine's an SDV8, and I had a TDV8 L322 before the current car. I’m just one of those on here who thinks FFRRs are only proper with 8 cylinders in a V formation.......

Tin hat on for incoming!

I think your right ! They need the grunt !
I got passed a leaked memo about the V6 engine and was advised to stay away for anything past 60k mileage. Basically there is a bearing that is gravity oil fed and fails quickly.

Many rumours & few facts on the 3.0 failures - I'd say more random than mileage based, but who knows....

Ryan has done a lot of research on it & has a thread - https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic45832.html

I’ve seen an internal Land Rover memo about a bearing being gravity fed for its oil that allows microns of movement without oil. Causes the bearing to fail over time.
