not sure but someone will tell hopefully...but you can leave the spare 'as is' and only do the road tyres. ... - .- -.

I’d rather have 5 the same. There’s a 1 inch diameter difference without taking wear into account.

They will go in but it is a very tight fit. Some have shaved a bit off the spare wheel housing to ease it a little. I had one in place and I took the RR jack (the wire contraption) out as I have a Sprinter jack. As I was taking it out it slipped and jammed behind the spare wheel. I had to get a mate to come over to lift it out as I have some problems which preclude lifting weights. . That was with the lifting kit. I dont think 55 will fit with the spare wheel lifter in place. I recall a thread.

That’s correct, I put GG3s on last year , changing from 275/45/20 to 255/55/20 spare doesn’t fit!

@DrRob and ChefKenmore, thank you. I'll just have to keep an eye out for someone doing this with 255/50R20 tyres.

I've only just fitted the tyre lifter! At my age and with my arthritis (osteo and Rheumatoid) I've got sod-all chance of getting the spare out without it!

just use one 255/55 as the spare, just to get you home, like others with space saver wheels max 50mph. |
