The TPMS valve stem is connected to the TPMS sensor inside the tyre. You can just replace the stem if your TPMS sensor is still working / has plenty of battery life left in it, although it may be prudent to change it whilst you have the tyre off, esp. if they’re of unknown age. Obviously need the correct sensors, readily available on eBay and generally come with the new stem anyway.

I've never changed just the stem, so can't comment on that.

So, after having the valves changed I had "check all tyres" warning and have now driven nearly 20 miles.

Ha, nice idea. That is not a solution for me. I like everything to work as it should, and if it doesn't work I will keep going until it is fixed.

do a battery reset, it 'might' reboot the relevant ecu's ..... ... - .- -.

I noticed the other day that the TPMS has been switched off on the Supercharged RR that I bought recently and it's something I'd like to turn back on after having a blowout whilst towing in our 2012 which doesn't have TPMS.

Stan - sorry I should have mentioned that. I did that in the tyre place as well. +ve and -ve terminals touched together. |

David it doesn't see the spare AFAIK I think there's a sensor in each arch that picks up the signal from the tpms transmitter |
