Fault codes 27 (P1174) and 35 (P1175) Intake Air System

just had a major service done on my 2004 Petrol V8, when I mean major, all new coolant pipes (2 ply quality oil resistant ones), new alloy rad, new thermostat, new battery, new gaskets, a lot of stuff, the reason I did this was because since covid started I have only done 4,000 miles, and the BMW engine did not seem to be as smooth as I had been used to in the past

so just got my car back, and everything is running very nicely, very smooth, gearbox is great, very good kick down acceleration is back, and pulls away from stop really well Smile

but I think I may have an air leak or two in the induction system

Group 11: Engine Bulletin Number: November 1997
SUBJECT: Intake Air System - Un-metered Air Leaks
MODEL: E39, E38, E31 with M62 engines

Situation: Check Engine Lamp is illuminated and fault codes 27 (P1174) and 35 (P1175), oxygen sensor control adaptation, are set in the Engine Control Module (DME).

Cause: Un-metered air leaks may occur in the following areas causing the above situation:
1. Intake manifold gaskets may be leaking.
2. Plug cap(s) and the vacuum hose for the fuel pressure regulator on the rear intake manifold cover (crankcase ventilation valve) may be torn or missing.

and saw this "Cheap Inlet Manifold Fix" - he really does seem to know what he is doing on M62 BMW engines https://www.meeknet.co.uk/e31/BMW_E31_840c...ak_Fix.htm

To rule out head gasket, there's a cheap test kit on ebay for about £8. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
