Remember when Police cars were switched from white to silver to help increase the resale value?

For years white was seen as a colour for commercial and emergency service vehicles only. I remember buying a white Mk3 Astra for a friend, who didn't care, which was about 20% cheaper due to the colour.

Weren’t commercials sold as white to allow purchasing companies to do their own liveries? Now you have wrapping so not such a need.

I bought a new Focus RS in 2010 and it was in solid white (Frozen White). It was the same white as a Transit or, probably, a fridge freezer. It was a no cost option.

Shortly afterwards, white became more popular. Ford noticed, apparently, as it became a £250 option 🙄

Recently had a look at Volvo XC90 and like a few other manufacturers, colours aren't an option Rolling Eyes . You can have-white, off white, 50 shades of grey, black

only colour that isn't monochrome is brown Shocked

Wow that Volvo pallet is terrible! At least the BMW choice include Azurite and Ruby.

Green is a very trendy colour right now in certain car scenes 1995 4.6 v8, green/tan (long gone)
2005 4.8iS X5, blue/black
2011 4.4 tdv8, black/black (gone)
2003 3.0d X5, Oxford green/black/manual
2021 p575 SVR, BR green/vintage tan
