My wife's 2012 Westminster has a "fault" for which no one has been able to identify the cause. It has the digital dash and the Navigation software, I understand, is on a flash or hard drive rather than DVD.
The problem is that it no longer gives voice guidance. You can set the destination normally, then the Navigation voice says something like "guidance will commence when you join the highlighted route" the arrow symbol proceeds along the route throughout the journey (but lane instructions and junctions don't pop up), and there is no further voice guidance until bizarrely at the end the voice guidance states "you have now reached your destination"!
Various people have set and reset the languages, adjusted volume, and changed on road/off road navigation. Re-installed the software etc etc.
A clue that may be relevant, when going through the Dartford tunnel my older 2006 Range Rover continues to proceed along the route even though GPS signal is lost. My wife's doesn't it stops and then jumps forward on exit from the tunnel. This may just be due to the different systems but I was wondering if there is a speed input that could be missing and cause this behaviour?
My logic being that it doesn't start the guidance because it doesn't know that the vehicle has started moving.
Any experience, such as how your sat nav behaves in a tunnel, or suggestions as to how to trouble shoot would be very welcome.
All the best for 2021
