Underbody washers

Hi, just wanted to get anyone's opinion/s of/on these under car pressure washer unit type bits of kit. Seen quite a few Tube of U videos, and they '''seem''' ideal to get rid of mud, crud and general skid marks (they seem handy for off-roaders especially) thus leaving the bottoms of our 'trusty' L332s nice and gleaming... Whistle
Personally, I was/am concerned they might cause some water pressure damage/harm to any vulnerable items/components under the vehicle, or leave water ingress as a likely future rust problem... Sad
I just wondered, really...

I quite like the idea of these, I can’t imagine it would do much in the way of damage water wise, the underside is possibly going to get submerged in water anyway should you find a deep enough ford or flood, as long as you don’t keep it in one place for ages, I think it’ll be very useful 2009 (2010 MY) 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography

Cheers for that Paul. Yes exactly, as I imagine we must get plenty of rain splash when out in a bit of a torrential downpour - not that I like to do so if I can avoid doing so. Embarassed
The cheapest of these washers are around £18.00 post-free - and seem to come from bio flu land but with warehouses in UK, it seems...
A suggestion is to remove the unit muck filter to get more pressure...

What a brilliant idea Thumbs Up , especially as we are moving into the time of year when our respective
councils start spreading rock salt on the roads.

I am going to invest in one, thanks for the heads up Thumbs Up

Looks like they're only 3/8" and my Kranzle is M22

Might have to investigate one of these though! Christian.

Yes, I agree, if it’s not concentrated on the same spot for too long, should be good.

Will it affect underseal? Sprayed some on a month or so ago…

Good find.

I bought one of the Karcher underbody wash/rinse chassis cleaners (only because it was very cheap) - actually works surprisingly well.

Oh yes I forgot about all that snowy weather salt prep - and considering we are entering deeper into a solar minimum (sunspot activity) period (since 2 years now) we might be in for quite a salty experience... I'm defo gonna get one! We could become the new '''heroes''' of the modern ice age era with our chunky 4x4s...

I'm too chicken to let my baby go through a car wash - but didn't realise they had under-body sprays also. But yet another good idea.

Yes, exactly, I haven't checked if my Archer - or is it Karcher?!? - connects with any of these devices as yet? I think there are a few suggestions for adaptors etc on supplying outlets and Tube of U for the half dozen or so of different makes of these bits of kit... Thumbs Up

Yes I can imagine if left on same spot for too long and a sudden clang and clatter of metal components might suggest too much pressure Rolling with laughter but as you say water at pressure might find a way of causing some problem/s...

Thumbs Up
