Nostalgia time, my brother in his lightweight Land Rover and me in my second Range Rover... Thought someone might like a trip down memory lane...

1983 Range Rover 4 door Vogue 3.5V8 resprayed in Ford mercury grey (my favourite colour at the time) Front and rear fabricated bumpers, Warn 8274 winch (wish I still had it, these were £100 second hand at the time... £1,500 now..!!) 2" lift, 32" tyres, underbody protection, front and rear locking diffs...

1979 Land Rover Air portable Lightweight 2 1/4 petrol restored to as new with a period Warn 8274 and 750 tyres.

That lightweight Land Rover is cool. I've always liked them. I think Land Rover should create a new one.

Are you sure that's Strata Florida? The one in Wales?

Many a trip on this back in the 1990's in my old 90, fab track back then, sadly its not so good condition as many a tracks have gone off the true route bypassing the sunken road where water collects and is deep.
Had a friend ride her horse down there last month too.

Memories are precious.
You have stirred up lots of similar “ brother” thoughts in my head.
When I think of the best things we did together while he was still alive they always include a Land Rover in some form or other.
He was very proud of his long wheelbase truck cab and I think I learned most of my spanner skills working with him to keep it on the road.
I helped him completely rebuild it onto a brand new galvanised chassis , complete with a new bulkhead.
He did most of the mechanical work and I sorted out all the electrics.
When my Classic VM blew a cylinder head gasket I would never had tackled it alone, but together we did it in a weekend.
I wish I could share pictures as good as yours with you, but sadly they are all just memories.
