What a pain. A big more bleeding should sort it. I presume they have the computer to allow the bleeding procedure.

I’m hoping so.

They should have everything, they have specialised in Land Rovers for decades, but I know mechanics leave and mechanics join.

When I drop it off, I shall get someone to drive it and agree it’s not right, before I leave.

Was much better than it was when I started it this morning. Still took it back and the boss said that the high performance brakes can be a pain to bleed, as you have to run diagnostics and 28 pumps per wheel etc, so I was happy they knew the correct bleed procedure. He got in it and said he could see what I meant, so I left it with them again.

Just collected it and it’s all fixed and as it should be. They had given me a 2001 Jag X type 3.0 auto as a loan car. I didn’t so much drive it, as wear it 🤣 I was eye level with the sun visors....

Drove mine back and realised how much I love it and how good it goes about its business.

I might forgive it the £669 Bill......

Tbh when it comes to brakes and tyres, I don't think it really matters on the price. If they are gonna save your life, then it's money well spent regardless of the cost

Does anyone know why you have to put the car in 'bleed mode'? I have the gap tool and I'm fitting new rear calipers tomorrow.

I believe it does something with the ABS valves/pump to purge any air out. Might be wrong, and it might do other stuff too.

Have you got the procedure? It’s in the Workshop Manual.
