Well Ive finally got to the bottom of the battery drain.
Thinking I had sorted it all out I used the RR the other night for work, steering lock seems all ok and working as it should, bonnet switch disconnected as the rouge alarm going off and the brake lights coming on when parked up!
So after my shift, unlocked RR, key in the ignition, steering unlocks, turn key and try to start, lights on dash come on nice and bright, all ok then and clunk,.......car dead, no lights no nothing, even the interior lights would not even come on.
After using a small battery pack to start her up all came to life and we're off home.
Charged the battery (even though a healthy 12.3 volts that evening) (battery is less than 2 months old) and left it all night.
Battery has a 13.5 volts when disconnected the earth lead, but as soon as reconnected, few sparks and volts drop, but the RR starts up fine.
So now the gremlin has been found at my friends garage, tested and fault found the cause to the gearbox module.
This is drawing 2.8 volts.....is this a common cause for these to fail?
its not the alternator or starter motor as these where tested.
I have checked the car goes to sleep and when I have checked it has, satnav red light goes out....but ive not noticed the one on centre console go out. If it dont work.......burn it!
If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.
If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!
If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!
