What is under that cap? A smaller sized nut like 21mm? Anyone? anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Rolling with laughter

One thing in my favor is I live in the San Jose, CA area. Here in CA rust really isn't an issue unless you live right on the coast where you have the salt air. Even when I move up to the Portland, OR area later this year it shouldn't be an issue since they don't salt the roads there.

Thanks!

Zip Ties -Always Zip ties! Oh and strong wire. -Have re-hung many an exhaust with wire to get you home. The other thing I always carry is Tyre foam. -At least two large cans. Just don't forget to warn the tyre fitter before he tries to remove the punctured tyre after you've used it! they don't like it much when it explodes all over them...... FFRR 4.2SC/KTM 990SMT Current and cherished.

YES! Zip ties! So many uses! I have a few tubs of them and can put a bunch in the kit. Bailing wire too!

Don't think I'll need tire foam (here in the US we call that a can of fix-a-flat since that's one brand of them out here). I have a full-size matching spare wheel. When I bought the car the tire was the original that was 12 years old! I just replaced it with a new tire, same brand and model, as the rest.

Thanks,

Yeah, I've got a full size spare too, but when its Censored down with rain, tyre foam is a much cleaner choice to get you home and fit the spare later! I'd rather fit a spare on the safety of my drive than crouching by the side of a busy road too! Bailing wire is ideal!

Good thread. Wink FFRR 4.2SC/KTM 990SMT Current and cherished.

Be careful with the fix a flat stuff, it ruins TPMS sensors.

Try finding a 22.5mm socket for the lug nuts, it's much less likely to ruin the swelled cap. I found one on Amazon and it has been a lifesaver twice.

Thanks for the warning. -I'm lucky in that I don't have them. -Always found them more trouble than their are worth. I just check them manually! Thumbs Up FFRR 4.2SC/KTM 990SMT Current and cherished.

Not sure if you're talking about your swollen nuts or the TPMS sensors!

A 12 point socket works on swollen nuts without getting stuck.
