L322 2004mod 3.0TD6 Sport mode, won’t start

Hi All.

Hope you do fine:-)

I’ve got a strange problem with my L322 2004 mod 3.0TD6.

The Car was fault free when I parked it yesterday, when I should start it today, it showes sport mode In the display even though the gearshifter is In P, and when I turn the key for start, Nothing happens...
I’ve got a hawkeye diagnostictool, and this doesn’t show any faultcodes that gives any good indication for the fault.

Do you have any idea what this can be? And where I should start problem searching?

Best regards

Svennis

Check your gear selector rod hasn't seized up .

As above.

It’s not registering it’s in P, which is why it won’t start.

It will either be that the selector lever on the gearbox is stuck or the linkage cable is frozen.

Possibly the position sensor/inhibitor switch on the right side of the gearbox. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Hi all.

Just wanted to give an update regarding my problem.

When I checked my fuses, fuse nr 5 was broken.

GOT some tips from a mechanic to check the alternator, wich where my problem.
It was a bad contact on the alternator, used some WD40 to clean it, changed the fuse, and now the Car is all well:-)

Best regards

Svennis
