L322 Aftermarket Towing Ball Mount | |
Hi everyone,
If you want to tow with your L322 you’ll need to get the wiring harness, ball mount and ball for the trailer hitch. I believe all L322’s came with the hitch installed.
Please remember that I'm in the USA so of course all of the prices here are in US dollars and the links are to US sites. I would assume that with the part numbers you could find sellers in the UK like Amazon.
The OEM ball mount kit is rather expensive and you may not need to spend that much.

The OEM ball mount has an 11” length and 3-½” drop. I found a Curt ball mount that’s so close that it may as well be the same. The Curt mount has an 11-1/8” length and 4” drop.

If you want the fancy OEM ball with the interchangeable balls it’s made by Reese Towpower 74309.

If you don’t need to have the interchangeable sized balls you can just buy the size you need. Personally, I wanted the dark grey color that I thought would better match the car.
I bought the Reese Towpower 7060400 Class IV ball with the Black Nickle finish.

I also wanted a locking pin since I leave the ball mount on the car. I like the Softride Quiet Ride Locking Tightening Hitch Pin (25219).

Costs:
- Ball Mount - $30
- Ball - $15
- Locking Pin - $40
TOTAL: $85
If you want the interchangeable ball like in the OEM set it’s about $40 from Amazon.
All prices are subject to change of course. These are approximate prices as of Dec 2020.
Have fun!
