Is this battery ok for 2011 TDV8?

need to change battery soon. going for AGM (original is LR). Is this a simple swap? seems like a good price?

I’d look at this:

https://www.batterymegastore.co.uk/product...-type-019/

More cold cranking amps (CCA) - 900 instead of 850 on the Exide, and a bigger Ah rating - 100 vs 95. It’s cheaper too!

The Yuasa batteries also have a 5 year warranty. I’ve used a few of them in various cars now and haven’t had any issues. I put one in my old Supercharged in 2014 and the owner who has it now is still on that same battery.

That recommendation is out of stock Razz Besides it isn't even an AGM battery Wink

I can't stand Yuasa batteries. I was attracted by the price, but found them pretty Censored and killed two in a row. First the shop agreed the battery was duff and I accepted a replacement, but then the replacement went bad as well, I got a refund.

Just sticking with Varta/Bosch now...

I have had the Yuasa 019 in my 2011 Tdv8 for 2 years & have had no issues, it has stood for 4-5 weeks started up no probs. Yes I know it’s not an AGM, did battery change procedure with gap tool. Has 3 yrs warranty to go!

Over Christmas I replaced a 2 year old Yuasa 5000 battery on my 4.4 TDV8, due to the battery not holding sufficient charge during the cold spell, causing all sorts of error messages.

Replaced with a VARTA G14 AGM with a lower rating than the Yuasa battery.

No more issues experienced since.

As a matter of interest it is notable that most of the batteries under discussion on the forum are all either German (VARTA, BOSCH), or in the case of YUASA Japanese, and EXIDE a US brand.

Are there no British battery manufacturers that supply products suitable for Range Rovers? 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Current

Current battery LR are supplying is an Exide AGM 019.

It is the same battery in the 322 and 405 and I put the new one I had bought for my 322 into my 405. I really don’t understand the need to save a few quid on batteries. It’s one of the bits which you need every time you get in the car, buy the best you can afford. Not the cheapest you can find. Personally I think the LR batteries generally do Ok. The one in my 07 lasted 5 years, same with the one in my 12. The one in my 405 was still ok I just put the new one I’d bought for the 12 plate in as I had it lying around.

Personally I would just call your local LR parts department and ask how much the right one is! Yes it will be more, but it is a known quantity. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I agree. Yuasa on paper has higher specs, but it doesn’t seem to be like that in actual usage.

Ps. Varta and Bosch batteries are the same and nowadays owned by an American company as well.

After reading the recommendations on here I opted for the following battery

https://advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk/product/varta-g14/

Straight forward to change just a little bit heavy, I did need to buy the special security torx style tool to undo the ECM but it was less than £4 from the bay and much easier than trying to force them undone 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

Re the Exide AGM mentioned by the OP, short answer is yes it will fit and work fine.
I've had one on my 4.4 for a couple of years with no issues, the same battery had also spent 6 months on a Jag then roughly the same on a JCB before moving onto my 4.4. It's now doing a sterling job for the last year or so on my 3.6 so I'm more than happy with it.

Std battery for the LR, as supplied by LR dealers is an EXIDE.
It has actually got slightly lower in terms of Ah.

It is now an Exide 90Ah 850 cca AGM.

I did post a pic in one of theother battery change threads.

Cheers
