United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey
What have I done

Hi folks,

Im new to the RR world so thought Id introduce myself. Been thinking for a long time now about getting myself "one of those lovely Range Rovers" so I bit the bullet a few months ago after hunting for a good one, if there is such a thing, and bought a very tidy, new to me 101K '07 Vogue TDv8 with a fully documented dealer service history to boot! Stornoway grey, black interior and 100% standard other than a set of 22" Stormers which were only fitted just over a year ago by the previous owner. Thus far I've been impressed by the comfort, luxury and the surprising performance of such a big heavy beast but it would appear that it suffers from all the usual RR faults and niggles, so the next few months are going to be busy for me.

The list of jobs Ive found wanting thus far :

front discs and pads and a gearbox service which the previous owner mentioned and discounted for Thumbs Up
leak from the gearbox loom gasket so a fresh set of gearbox seals, filter upgrade kit and a fluid change
rear brake pipes and calipers really badly corroded so probable replacement
Webasto pre heater blowing clouds of thick acrid smoke which a German Panzer would be proud of, so fuse 59 pulled for posterity
steering wheel height/reach adjustment non operational
replace track rod tie ends to get wheel alignment set
fresh fluids for the diffs and transfer case
refurb Brembos and replace brake fluid (which Im currently in the process of)

Im sure theres a whole lot more that I'll encounter once I start getting stuck in but fingers crossed, hopefully not too much, so upwards and onwards as they say Very Happy

United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Bournville

List doesn't sound to bad, like you I purchased a 2009 TDV8 Vogue about a month ago and loving it but not used a great deal due to lockdown. I think everyone who buys one says "what have I done" but they are lovely motors. Good luck with yours. 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Just picked mine up from having a £669 bill for brake pipes and master cylinder. They gave me a 2001 3.0 jag x type as a loan car.

Got out of mine and realised how much I love it and how good it is....

My first Range Rover

So here she is, my new trusted steed (says he with fingers tightly crossed)

She suffers some slight tin rot in the rear door checks and on the rear arches, standard Rolling Eyes so I'll have to strip the sill and wheel arch covers off some weekend to see how bad it really is, but on the surface it doesnt look too bad and since buying it I have treated it to a full set of wind deflectors, colour coded door handle and mirror covers, led side light, number plate and internal courtesy led bulb upgrades which looks fab and thats about it atm, oh and a most important for me.... a bluetooth dongle to stream my tunes via the betamax infotainment system. Next purchase will hopefully be an IID diagnostic tool which it sounds like every RR owner should have and will need at some stage.

Cheers

Cheers, when I viewed it it was sitting gleaming in the sun so the colour sealed the deal for me plus the condition of the leather and carpets matched the outside so it seems to have had a reasonably easy life. All being well I'll have it for a good few years to come.

That’s a nice looking car.

Have fun tinkering whilst sorting all of its foibles. Smile
