Dealer warranty on work

I have just acquired a splendid 2009 3.6TDV8. Been through most things today and all seems in order except TV doesn't work. Been through history and the TV tuner and phone were replaced by the dealer in July of this year. Together with new alternator and battery plus couple of little things receipt was near £4K. Seems water ingress was blamed. How would dealer react if I took car in and asked them to sort it, they obviously haven't got it right but not sure work is transferable. Any thoughts?

Any work carried out using official parts is covered... However, if its not the tuner at fault, you may be into a big bill to fix something you may actually rarely use!

So, yes its covered including the labour to test and replace the parts fitted in July sir... Thumbs Up

That's good to hear, thanks for that. Would probably never use TV so wouldn't pay out to get it working but I thought it's a matter of principal if Jaguar have had loads of money to fix and it isn't! Will see how I get on. Thanks again.

Reading the notes on the invoice from the dealer a front window was resealed but they said water from the roof got into light unit and damaged mobile control and the TV tuner. Recommended a new overhead console and roof housing at another £1600 which was declined as he had just spent £4K. Does seem an extreme fix to me for a leak. Roof has no staining and is completely dry inside roof pocket too. Assume the two components are situated in the roof? Will take it back to dealer and get his viewpoint next week.
