I had a look at mine and sure enough mine was the same... it appears that the long pipe shrinks over time and pulls the clip from the air intake....
This is the pipe, lifted from it's position

It lives here and is baked all the time as it's touching the engine and insulated with a blanket (end of pipe removed)

This is where it goes.... just under the jubilee clip

From another angle...
The end is a separate rubber pipe fixed on with one time hose clamps, peel the clamps off carefully and remove the pipe

This is the pipe refitted to the intake, you can see it is too short to fit properly, there is NO play in the hose from the cylinder head.. It has shrunk this much...

Buy a new hose and I guess it will do it again..!
Can't get to the shops so I have ordered some silicone hose, it is 20mm ID, and two hose clamps and will fix it soon....
It doesn't seem to make a difference to how it drives (I have bodged it for now) but it can't be good for it...!! Pete
