steering column and key issue- raised its head again.

After 5 or so years of drilling into the side of the steering column mechanism and lubing with silicone the bodge/fix has come undone .... Rolling Eyes

last night the car was a bit iffy releasing the steering column lock and this morning its given up completely , I cannot get the steering lock to allow the wheel to move or be unlocked so its failed in the locked position , I can start the car and move the key after jumpering pins 1 and 7 on the connection block but steering remains locked .

SO I'm pretty much up Censored creek , I do remember someone stripping down the mechanism and fixing the issue but can't find the information , golgle skills are letting me down , I don't fancy spending land rover prices on a new column , has anyone got the link to the information for sorting this out myself ?

Hi, you should check this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCnjsXe_oqg&feature=emb_logo&ab_channel=RobTheCarGuy

This is for model year 2006 (old interior), and I see that you have 2007 model, but I assume that the wires underneath are the same. Smile  RR HSE 4.4 2006 LPG

Fixed following the guide above, just got to remember the courtesy lights need to be on to start the car. Could wire a simple switch into the console by using pins 1 and 7 on the now defunct connector, but that's for a future date. Smile

eta , I now have a b0001-13aa and b0003-13aa fault code and airbag light on , so soemthing has went awry

drivers airbag codes , any ideas?
