Are you considering buy a L663 Defender?

Hi all

I just thought that I would run a quick poll to see how many folk here are tempted by the new Defender.

Today I was informed that the 3.0L straight 6 engine will/is being built by BMW and will be in MY21 cars.

So, is anyone tempted?

Jim

Cant get past the freaky-amateur-ish-trying-to-be-old-defender-but-not-making-sense tail lights. Cheers, Greg

I’m definitely not the target market for those. I find them just too ugly and awkward looking; like the Suzuki wagon r or Nissan Cube of 4x4. I appreciate it is capable, but the completion must have been rolling with laughter when they saw that thing.

I like the look of them, but in my opinion they're too expensive. I'll have a look at used 6 cyl 110s in a couple of years and see if I can get a decently specced low mileage one for £30k or less. 2017 SDV8 Autobiography

I was thinking of one of the hard tops to replace the now ageing D4 commercial work horse, but not while they cost as much as they do. Not that they seem to be available yet in any case. The D5 doesn’t suit and replacing a D4 with another D4 seems pointless.

In terms of it being a second “car” NO. Too expensive, too big.
As a replacement for the RR in a few years time, possibly but not until they are sensible money and second hand. paying out 60-70k for a deafener is not on the cards when a lovely late model RR is similar cash...... hmm no. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I've driven the 110 and it was a nice drive but the 4 pot diesel engine with the auto sounded awful. I thought all of the 6 cylinder engines were JLR Ingenium units, I know INEOS are using BMW petrols and diesels in the Grenadier.

I’d like a 90 Hard Top, but I want air suspension and not the weakest engine.

Was toying between a 90 hard top and a 110.

Having had an old Landcruiser for work years back, having rear doors onto the load space in the D4 has been great, the ability to get to the back of the load space without having to crawl in is important!

So if I do ever get one then it will be a 110, 6pot, with air. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
