it’s been a while, probably time for a bit of an update...

So I got the engine and box out eventually, made myself a bit of a frame to land it on. Was rather pleasantly surprised how easy it actually was, although the strut to hub bolts were fully hard work to get undone...

The o/s turbo was actually pretty good, but the n/s was very dead. Oil seals gone, and had filled up most of the pipe work and the radiator aswell. New reman OEM turbos both sides.. and slowly got it back together. Fitted the egr blanks and blanked the manifold end of them aswell.

Cleaned up all the rads, it was quite amazing the amount of stuff in between the cooling rad and the inter cooler!

Changed the gearbox sump, sleeve and oil at the same time... so today it’s exhaust and coming home!! Never been this excited about a car... I’m actually shocked at myself... Rolling with laughter

Lucky you didn't have runaway diesel engine with all that oil in the intercooler.

Thanks for the update. Thumbs Up

So, I managed a whole 2 weeks on the road, before the MOT. So happy with her, we’ve called her Lola. Easily the best car I’ve owned. Bow down Bow down

Did a bit of an exhaust upgrade while I was in there. Fairly strange that it had 4 cats on. It’s only got “2” now. (Whistling gently) Whistle

Down pipes and system now 2.5” both sides. Nice and bassy but no drone which is what I wanted. It’s a RR after all.
I noticed a bit of a suspension clonk, so bought an entire delphi front arm and ball joint kit prior to the mot. And it failed on those and the f-r brake pipes..

I’ve not had the full bill yet, as I couldn’t find the time for this, had to let my mot guy do the work. Hopefully he’s looked after me.

Wow it corners now!! Hate the grabber tyres though. Hoping they just need a scrubbing up, it did 1800 miles between mot’s last year... it’s gonna do more than that for next year. Need to get the remap done.

Next stop is tackling the rust!!
