[Wanted] Wanted - 5.0 or 4.4 Autobiography L322

** updated - will now also consider 4.4 TDV8 **

Hi folks,

I was looking around a year ago for a 5.0 s/c L322.

Didn't manage to find the right car, but now definitely need something asap as my other car really isn't suitable as a daily.

Budget is at lower end for 5.0 - up to £14k max.

Not too fussed about mileage, condition and history are non negotiable though.

Car must be in good order and well maintained.

Would also consider 4.2 s/c at lower cost.

No smokers cars or pet carriers either.

(Sorry if I'm appearing overly fussy but thought it best to be clear here to save time later.)

Can move quickly for the right car.

Cheers

Kris

Bump as still in the market..

Prices (At least those advertised) seem to have jumped a lot this year. Are sellers achieving £18-20k for these or is it just ambitious Covid pricing?

Motivated buyer. Absolute max budget is £14.5k 5.0 preferred.

The 4.4 TDV8 with the ZF 8HP (8 speed) box made between 2010 and 2012 are amazing. That is a very robust engine.
Personally I had never had diesel before and the performance is great. It is important to note they are not good for just city or heavy traffic driving - they need a regular run as speed. mixed is fine, it just cant be all slow driving

just go through Autotrader .. you'll find something that fits.

Cheers, will keep looking. I've probably missed a good few diesels as been focused on a 5.0

Pre lockdown, I'd be doing two or three 500 mile round trips a month with work but that's zero now and unlikely to change any time soon.

Would one hour long trip a month be ok for a tdv8 or would I just be storing up problems?

I think I do less than that and am ok. Just need to put your foot down to keep the second turbo clear of oil build up.

Thanks guys. Just need to keep my fingers crossed for a forum car. Every car I've bought, those from owners forums are always the good ones.

Trade without exception have been horrendous, doesn't seem to matter whether your spending a grand or a hundred they're a complete shower. Either that or I have a particular skill in choosing the bad ones!

Well, I paid £8.5k for my 4.4 TDV8 last year when it was at 327k miles (now 333k), full JLR service history and only one prior owner. Thumbs Up

So your budget should get there, if high milage really is OK for you. Mr. Green 2010 Range Rover TDV8 Baltic Blue Autobiography (2011 MY) - SOLD Sad

If the body works good and the seats aren't knackered then no, no issue at all. If it's done 327k with a wet labrador in the back transporting farm labourers around then it's probably not for me.

Low owners, condition and history are paramount.
