Have you a photo showing a little bit more of the engine. I can’t work out where you are looking?

I’m guessing it’s a breather, but need a pic from further back.... as can’t tell exactly where that is....

There is a gearbox breather, but I think that might have a filter on, that goes nowhere. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Well it’s needed, just not connected to anything. Best not to look for issues. They will find you soon enough 🤣 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Wisdom elsewhere on the forum suggests that pipe is the breather for either the transfer box or the front diff (and it should be clipped onto that clip right next to it). There's another plastic pipe nearer the back of the engine that comes up and is bent in a semi-circle so the open end points down - that's the other breather. There's also a small clear plastic filter in that area that is open at one end - that's the gearbox filter. |

Well you don't have to make any connections ... all the pipes are designed to be open at the end in the engine bay.

They are open end so they can breath. They are up where they are so that the gearbox/transfer boxes don't flood when wading. John
