FBH

Please help!
I not sure if my FBH has run yet but it will prime fuel and says it has been successful when test run through iid tool. I have the reciever but not the remote to manually test run the unit.
Any idea why it states not fitted in the faults list as per photo ?
Thank you

Quelle photo?

Mine sounds like a jet engine winding up for take off.
Comes on at around 4°C.

I guess??? that if you put the car on max defrost setting that the FBH will fire up. (providing there is adequate fuel in the tank and fully charged battery).

I use the remote to shut the blasted thing off as quick as possible!

Hi Tom

My iiD does not show the FBH as fitted but it does work. Famous last words. It has also shown as tested OK when last looked at. You've had the car for only a few weeks if I read your posts correctly and the FBH has not fired up since you purchased it. Yes?

I'd suggest having a good read of the section of the WM in the Wiki. It's

2010-2013/wm/climate/auxilliary heating/FFBH

Look at the last page for details of when it may lock out etc. and how to reset it. When you start the car in temperatures which should bring on the FFBH, can you hear it run and also hear the pump ticking away under the car, rear offside? Does its exhaust under the front nearside wheel well get hot and discharge hot exhaust?

That should tell you if it's working on assisting the engine to get up to full operatiing temp.

When you've done that perhaps someone with a bit more knowledge will be along. Cheers
Richard

Hi,
many thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it. Your right i have only owned the car a month now but am used to FBH as i had a Disco 3 for many years. I will certainly read your suggested lead and hopefully this will help with my query.

regards,
Tom
