can anyone help, came out to my range rover this morning and it wouldn't unlock with the fob. opened the door with the key but the steering lock wouldn't come off. checked the battery and it was totally flat. swapped the battery for a fully charged one and no change. remote locking doesn't work and the key doesn't turn in the ignition. also the airbag light is flickering. the radio system died yesterday on my way to work. any ideas anyone. |

You could try connecting a jump lead from the battery -ve post to some metalwork on the engine block and see if it makes any difference. |

If not the battery, then could be the alternator.

the fault has now changed, i managed to turn the key and start the car. this i tried 6 or 7 times with success. then the wife and i drove to sainsburys and parked up. when we went back to the car the hazards were flashing they stopped when i open it, but again i couldn't turn the key. after 20 or so attempts it turned and the car started. |

I wouldn’t advice starting the car 6 7 times in short succession and then only having a short journey 😬

certainly sounds like a battery drain but with other issues i.e. radio failure, air bag light flickering and hazards lights (no alarm?) could also indicate wet electrics as the overall cause. So other than reading fault codes check for water ingress in rear compartments (both side cubbies)and inside by the LCM (Base of A frame) and under seats for dampness around BCM (front passenger seat) If you can, see if either of the front footwells are wet under the carpet by lifting the treat plates. |

sounds like it cold be water ingress, also had ABS light come on air suspension inactive message and rear window winding itself down. all the faults have now gone apart from the radio not working. no sign of water or damp carpets though. is it a major job to remove the glovebox fuse box to inspect it? |
