I am looking for some offroading in Moab, UT and I want to buy new tyres for my rover. It is a 2015 Range Rover Full Size. Currently I have 275/45/R21 on them and have less than quarter inch thread left on them. I will be driving from Des Moines, IA and will be towing a trailer. As I do not have enough space in my house I do not want to maintain two sets of tyres. Is there a tyre configuration that will allow me to use for offroading (Beginner level) and will help me tow longer distance trips and also handle the snow weather in my location?

I really want to maintain two sets but my wife will not let me fill my garage with tyres as I already have a set of Giulia tyres hanging on the garage wall.

Try General Grabber AT3. These are what I have fitted to my Discovery 3 V8. They are pretty good tyres.

If you're prepared to change to 20" then there's quite a selection in 275/55R20 which is slightly oversize but by all reports don't rub anywhere and fits in the spare wheel well. I'm a fan of the Pirelli AT+ being quiet and a good compromise all-rounder. Mine on my L322 get a good work-out in all conditions although no snow yet, but they have the light snow classification.

I am also looking at getting some AT, I live in Perth Australia where there is the coastal playground to explore and lots of sand tracks.

I currently have 22inch and looking for some 20inch as I have read that is the smallest size I can go due to the front brake discs on the 2015 SDV8 L494.

Sizes to consider are:
285/50 (wider tread, less sidewall)
275/55 (narrow tread, more sidewall)
Or
255/55 (original)

What are the offsets specs for the rims on the 20inch rims to fit on the SDV8?

Once I find the 20inch rims, I consider getting 275/55, for more sidewall and to stay within speedo readings.
Possibly Coopers AT3 or Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

I would love to use the RRS off road but not with 22inch rims haha.

Any one in Perth that take their L494 RRS off road? Always optimistic, unless really hits the fan

Yes, they fit perfectly on the std 20” wheels - the Cooper AT3’s are the best AT’s I have had - they are far better than the General Grabber and we have had 3 sets of those and still have a set on another 4x4, and streets ahead of the BFG which grip appallingly in the wet and perish before they wear out. I definitely would buy the Coopers again and would highly recommend the 285/50/20 size - they are quiet, speed rated for the RR, handle perfectly in the wet on tarmac and good in mud. And they look well without appearing a bit red neck.

Totally off topic ish - but also got a set of Toyo muds on a Defender and they are better that the Cooper Muds which they replaced - so I’m am not being just brand loyal to Cooper with the RR tyres - but can give an honest opinion based on experience 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
