Charge System Fault (solved)

Hi all, just wanted to share something.

I had a Charge System Fault for the past few days and due to lack of time and pouring rain, I didn't get around to a good look till tonight.

I was worried it was the voltage regulator or entire alternator.

What I did notice is that my cheap cig lighter voltage meter showed 13.6 to 13.7 volts, rather than the 14+ volts normally, so it was charging.

Since it had work done recently and I drove it across a gravel road this weekend (the Forgotten World Highway in Taranaki NZ), I was wondering that it was it was a connector/cable issue.

It turned out to be really simple, there is a little plug on the negative pole clamp that had come loose. So I plugged it in and that was it.

So next time you have a similar issue, check that little plug first !!!! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!
