So after a couple of weeks trouble-free, following the injector replacement, I've got an intermittent warning of ‘gearbox fault’, sometimes accompanied by ‘adaptive dynamics fault’, Having looked through some other posts, it seems the two shouldn't be connected (but I could be wrong!). I can clear the warning and carry on, though sometimes the amber engine management warning light illuminates. Turning the ignition off, then restarting seems to clear it all.

It's only been happening since yesterday, but it does seem to happen when put it in park, or reverse, although sometimes it's a bit more random. I've done a few short trips in the last couple of days, hence the all stopping and starting. Sometimes when engaging P or R there is a bit of a clunk—but not always.

I'd put it down to gremlins, or even a fading battery. The clunk thing bothers me though.

Car has done 76k, indie is doing the timing chain guides in a week's time, so will get him to look at it. Grateful for any ideas in the interim-just hoping I don't need to open the chequebook too much!

Quick update, just borrowed my friendly neighbour's OBD II scanner--no engine or transmission fault codes logged. He then plugged in his PC using who-know's-what software and got PO915: gear shift position circuit range performance. Sound like sensor or wiring?

No update that might help you I'm afraid. The timing chain guides turned out to be more difficult (read expensive) than first thought. That along with the supercharger spring and possible gearbox fault led me to move the car on. Still miss it.
