Where to start (Trans failsafe program)?

My 2005 4.4 V8 (63.000 km’s) started to give the Trans failsafe program message (and also goes in that mode) some months ago and now it’s becoming worse: almost every day I get one or more of these messages. After restarting it is away for some time.
I first exchanged the battery but no improvement. I also had the gearbox flushed. When I clear all faults the message looks to be away for a few days.

My LR specialist had a look at it and says he can start changing parts (starting with the potentiometer) but no guarantees on where this ends.

Any ideas here on where to start best without making to many unnecessary expences?

Gearbox flush without the oil cooler being change is a bit pointless as the oil cooler blocks up, also replace your radiator.

Gearbox Switch Fault : General Fault often relates to the Park Inhibit switch on the side of the gearbox.
I have the same issue with mine at the moment which is a repeat of the same fault I had about 10 years ago which a new switch fixed.

Anyway check out this thread regarding testing the Inhibit switch:
