The car senses a trailer is attached by the brake lamp circuit... That is how your car knows the tungsten equipt trailer is there and NOT when the LED trailer is attached, sir... (as the LED's do not draw enough current!)

So, if you're having an issue with a car faulting, telling you there is a trailer when there is not? Then you need to look at the trailer brake lamp circuit on your towing electrics sir Thumbs Up

Thanks Cam-Tech-Craig. Bow down
In my case, I can add a dummy load to the LED circuit, increasing the current drawn, and hopefully trick the sensors.

Exactly what I would do sir... Thumbs Up

Ireland 2008 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black

Sorry fellas to revive an old post. I just picked up a 2008 Vogue SE, Has a towbar fitted. I don't intend on using it. But everytime I start her up I get the "check trailer light", The trailer icon also stays on also and will remain on until I turn my sidelights or main beams on. If i were to indicate without doing this the indicator blinks rapidly as if when a bulb is gone. Am I able to just remove the fuse for the trailer lighting or how best can I resolve, Thanks in advance

Got to the boot and unplug the module should be that simple - you may have an aftermarket module like me causing mayhem. I got a used look and module for not much and wired it in all good now.

If you have genuine the modules go for less than £20 on eBay so maybe worth trying one before completely giving up Current stable:
