Fuse 18 Immobiliser

Good evening everyone. I have looked in the 'search' but didn't see an answer. My motor is a 2005 TD6 and it's had 2 recent key/immobiliser incidents where the car would not start.
I've read that if your immobiliser doesn't recognise your key, and your car wont start, you can pull fuse 18, reinsert the fuse and your car will start.
This hack is also described as a one time only remedy.
Does this mean the hack only works once and never again, no matter how many times you need to pull out the fuse and reinsert it? Or does it mean it's something you have to do each and every time you have the issue and your car won't start.
I hope it's the latter.
Yes, it may be a dumb question but I'm lacking beer to oil my brain cells Smile Travelling around in circles again.

A dumb question is the one you don't ask, fuse 18 is to allow the key to be turned if there is a steering lock or problem like yours.
Yes it is a one time, however not forever, you would need to do this each time, plenty of info on the tube. 2008 TDv8 Vogue in Java black x2

Thanks for the response, it's appreciated.👍
Now I understand the 'one time only' comments.
I've seen a youtube video showing how you can splice a wire from the wires underneath the steering column to a footwell light, to eliminate having to use the fuse 18 trick.
I'll do that this week. Travelling around in circles again.
