Electrical gremlins ...please help !!!!

hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction as no garage near me wants to take the challenge on ...
So my l322 tdv8 got caught in some really heavy rain and since then its gone haywire ...I've no interior lights , no central locking , can't open tail gate , no wipers, and messages telling me that suspension won't work unless doors are closed . But they are closed !!!.
I was told it was water somewhere so I looked under the passenger seat and it was bone dry , near the sat nav and wheel well again both dry .... I put a new battery on and I've touched both terminals together .I was told that the bcu may be down and that it is plug and play so I replaced that and still everything is the same .....I did notice my rear lense had condensation in it so I removed it and there was water in there so I empties it and cleaned everything up and put it back together but it didn't make a difference... is it a lost cause or can it be fixed ? Please help πŸ˜…

The body control unit needs to be programmed to your car mate so will need gap iid to make it work. That's probably going to be your next best move as those items that ain't working are very much bcu related

Hi, that sounds like it’s dropped itself into transport mode. Use diagnostics like the Gap IID Tool to check and remove transport mode, if it is actually that. ______________________________

Thanks for that guys ..... another problem I forgot to mention was that the obd port doesn't seem to work ...
A mobile fitter came to me as I can't drive it because its raining (no wipers) and found a kill switch that looks professionally fitted in the passenger footwell and a button under the steering wheel that turns the electrics on until released again πŸ™„... nobody has a clue why they have been fitted

Two things, l doubt heavy rain caused your problems, flooding yes- heavy rain no. Particularly as you appear not to have found any water in the car. Have you checked all the carpets for water/ damp?
Secondly, the button under the dash. You say it turns on the electrics until released. Does that mean with the button pressed in everything on the car returns to normal for the duration?

The rear lamp was half full of water ,,, immersing one of the bulbs .... would this not be enough to cause harm ? .
And Jo the button when pressed will turn on only the things that are actually working..

Do all the external lights still work? Including brake lights.

Can't think of any reason why your rear light filling with water would cause your problems then.
