Thinking it’s engine speed related, I’m going to have a hunt over the weekend to see if I can pin it down. Somehow feels like it could be steering pump or something on the front.

Had a good listen to mine Mark, the noisiest thing seems to be the high pressure fuel pump but that’s more a mechanical noise, there is if I’m super critical very slight engine vibration through the low rev range but I just put that down to it being a Diesel engine. They don’t have a steering pump in the traditional sense, it’s an electric motor on the steering rack, but still lots of stuff belt driven on the engine so could be one of these. If you can replicate it stationary you could try dropping the belt off then running, but only very short duration as you have no water pump / alternator. Good luck with your search. |
