Yes or No ? Mine had side steps on it when I bought it and in my 3 years have become very tatty. The rust has taken hold as well. To replace or not to replace ?Can't say I am conscious of using them when I get in and out. My previous one didnt have any steps and after 3 years, this hadn't contributed to the drivers seat wear.Having said that, the early 2003 model had a air suspension system where you just touched a switch on the door to lower the thng to access height once you pulled up.

To early in the morning ! What I meant to say was that i was in the habit of using that button on my eary model due to lack of steps. However, owners used to warn against using it because they reckoned you were putting a lot more wear and tear on the air pump.

Well. After 17 years of L322 ownership, I have just checked my 2004 and 2011 and the button that I have never used is indeed there, I always thought it was something to do with the mirrors, my wife will be happy as the 2011 doesn't have steps, every day is a school day, cheers chaps

the 16my onwards years have an auto access feature so i would think that the compressors are up to the job if you use the access mode regularly..


back to the steps question, me having short legs and a bad back ,i use mine all the time and as mentioned the seat gets less wear. ... - .- -.

Both mine had steps when I got them, and I use them, so it has to be a yes from me. I did imagine they’d stop dirt getting thrown up the sides a bit.... but that’s not the case 🤣

Rusted through on my TD6 and I ended up putting cheap copies on. Still ok when I sold it.

The ones on my 2011 have made the odd crunching noise..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Exactly my thoughts

I've just bought a set of fixed steps for mine. I wasn't going to bother but my other half has developed really bad sciatica and she's struggling to get in even at access height.

I've not touched the manual, but have had a flick through the online one. I used to sit in the car and have a quick read through the manual whenever I got a new car, not because I couldn't figure out how to do things, because I might miss a feature or some functionality. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

My steps are history. This afternoon. I unbolted, ground, sawed ( both disc and reciprocating ) for hours until I had them both off. Luckly I had a mates ramp and his massive collection of pro tools to go at whilst he struggled with a citroen van clutch on another ramp....
Next step is removal of the plastic sill trim to check for holes

Took mine off over a year ago as they were badly rusted, I find it just as easy to get in and out without them as you can put your legs stright down rather than trying to find the step
