How to: Foglight assembly replacement on Autobiography

Hello everyone,
Sorry if this is a duplicate. I tried searching the forum and did not get results (maybe I am missing something in the way I search).

Anyone could provide instructions on how to replace the foglight assembly on 2012 L322 Autobiography? I understand these in UK are called "Design Pack".
Per my owner's manual (which does not show an Autobiography), I just have to pry/un-click out the foglight bezel however this is not working for me as the way bezels attach to the front bumper appear, to me, to be completely different.

A body shop nearby said the front bumper has to come out.

Appreciate any thoughts/links/references.

Have a great weekend,
Al.

Your fog lamps unlike the standard bumper are fitted and screwed to the inside of the bumper sir...

Its a real PITA to get to them! Rolling Eyes

Thank you for your reply Craig.

The sad story that got me asking is I figured out these bezels are not coming off easily. What do I do? I take it to the dealer (assuming they know what to do).

When fog lamp replacement was done (took only 1/2 hour or so), I just make sure fog lamps are working and I drive away/ no close examination. Next day I want to detail my car and I am paying attention to details; I notice the fog lamp assemblies are not secure and I find plenty of black glue/silicon in and around the fog lamps bezels.. I am suspecting who ever did the replacement at the dealer broke so many attachments and made them want to glue my bezels..

So Censored off 😡... and now I can't un-see this ugly black glue..

I requested an appointment for "proper installation of fog lamps" next week. I am hoping they will acknowledge their mistake and make things right...

If anyone could share a resource on how to replace these fog lamps, that would be very helpful.

Thanks,
A.

Well, in short... They are secured using four screws to the rear of the lamp! So, the general way would be to remove the bumper and fit them! To look at them or to change a bulb would be to remove the wheel arch liner...

The confusion comes because the original bumper has fog lamps fitted from the front by removing the fog lamp bezels... Then you remove four screws and the fog lamp removes from the front!

The exact opposite so, maybe the USA dealer has read the wrong instructions and broke your very expensive bumper? I would pursue it with them if I were you sir... 👍

Thanks Stan. It appears it does not cover the Autobiography/Design Pack instance though.
