Rear Lower arm bush removal on L322

Hi all,

I have my 2003 L322 on a car lift at the moment doing a total refurb, when i came to the lower wishbone bushes i it a stumbling block with one side that looks like a sealed unit, but the bushes are sold in pairs. Does anyone know how to remove and replace these bushes? on the parts lists etc, it mentions a special tool LRT-64-027/1,/2,/3 does anyone know where to get this tool? help would be very much appreciated.

Brian

Are you talking about the outer bushes on the rear suspension arms ?
If so, there's a circlip that retains them, but you need one of the G clamp type puller kits off ebay & you can extract them.
It's actually a metal rose joint with rubber boots to keep the lubricating grease in.
I'm surprised you appeared to only find the bushes in pairs. There's no need to replace in pairs if the opposite side is OK & all of the suspension bushes are normally sold as single items.

PS Have a look in the forum Wiki, there's great descriptions on how to change most suspension items Paul,

Hi Paul, thanks for the quick reply, yes i'm talking about the two bushes on the lower wishbone, one is a standard type bush and the other seems to be inside a lip on both sides maybe mine has rusted that much. i will take another look at them tomorrow.

For the bushes etc have a look at advanced factors website. They have the exploded diagrams on there and gives you part numbers etc. Normally decent price and they are a forum sponsor I believe and there's a discount code from them somewhere on here. My Indy just replaced the complete lower arms on mine - presumably cheaper from a labour point of view? Bish.
