Speedo needle not illuminated

Strange one... the wife told me the speedo needle didn’t light up with the lights (all other needles and cluster did) I went in it was fine about four months ago and ever since intermittently I have witnessed this too until about two weeks ago it hasn’t come back on... then tonight the rpm needle did the same! Any ideas I see on the disco and sport forums this is a common issue due to burnt out tracks but wasn’t sure if this was the case here or anyone had witnessed it? If so I will have to take to an auto electrician to bridge the track I guess Current stable:

I had some lamps go out on my dash a few years ago so removed the dash. On the rear of the unit there are plug-in bulbs , If I remember correctly 2 types . One type for the main dash illuminations and another type for the guage needles etc. Unfortunately cannot recal what type they were as it was about 4-5 years ago. Had to take the end caps and top dash cover of to remove the binacle though and took about 2-3 hours all told from start to finish .

I’ve nailed tearing down the dash I can do it in under 15mins now I’m not joking and about the same assembly lol - but I have had this out befor for another rein and they are all leds I guess it’ll have to come out again and be repaired...

I have got an identical cluster same age style etc in the shed - is there any chip I can swap from one to the other that holds mileage

Im pretty sure they are VIN locked Dan, to stop clocking in its most basic form!

That said, when i changed my 322 multimedia screen from single to duel view, that was VIN locked BUT, importantly, the parts i needed from inside were not!

So, maybe possible to swap the offending board over to your clocks? Thumbs Up
