The Classic was very special because I looked forward to being able to buy one for so long, and I really enjoyed the “buzz” I felt every day I used it., and it was such a quantum leap up from a series 2 Land Rover.
I used it as a mobile office for at least 6 years visiting remote mountain top radio sites, particularly as we were building up the “new” cellular mobile phone network.

B.B . Is obviously so much more refined, comfort, speed, and a pleasure to drive, particularly on long holiday jaunts., so I suppose wins the “favourites “, plus incidentally the most economical MPG wise.

In my dreams I see myself owning a Loire blue L405 P400e, to complete the story, but it is not going to happen, hence my efforts to keep B.B. in good condition by regularly over servicing it.

Just an extra to my earlier reply...

When I had saved up enough to look seriously to buy the Classic....Approved Used diesels were VERY hard to find, one or two 2.4 VM’s but I wanted a 2.5VM Vogue and was prepared to wait for a good one.
I talked to my local MD salesman and told him exactly what I wanted.
A couple of weeks later they rang me to say they had arranged to get one for me to look at., I bought it after a 20 minute test drive.

Baltic blue has never been so dirty...
I am halfway through moving house,and B.B. is not in a garage overnight for a few weeks until we move into our new house
but I can’t imagine a worse combination of circumstances...
Never try to move house during a pandemic, and to make matters worse from England into Wales.

I cleaned the wheels this morning, because the blue didn’t look too bad after very heavy overnight rain.
Two weeks lockdown from Friday, so I will have plenty of spare time to buff up my pride and joy . .

Nice story there Captain.

I have to say the Classic will alway be my favourite but I can't actually say why - it just sort of is.

Get yourself an old RRC and start fetling. Its nice to have the choice when its done and no rush to get it finished when its not.
