Great story Mike. See you work / worked at BT. Ditto, I was a mechanic for BT from 1987 to 1995 in various Manchester Locations. Worked on series 2A’s 3’s and early defenders, and the odd classic FF with a variety of Petrol and Diesel engines, wasn’t much we didn’t do on them as some were old and didn’t get an easy life! Good old days, but land rovers have sure come a long way when you look back |

As a T. O. I got plenty of them, but after I got promoted to AEE etc the perks stopped apart from a tie I had to wear occasionally.... but I am not complaining.... early retirement on a release scheme when they wanted to get rid of Managers came at just the right time for me.

I have now edited the original post 15 times, adding extra details and photos and have really enjoyed remembering little snippets and re- living many happy times.
