L322 4.4 V8 Ticking/Grinding noise during steering

Bought an L322 recently with the 4.4 V8 petrol

One thing ive noticed is a grinding/metal on metal/ticking sound, loud from outside the car, from the front drivers wheel.

I get it especially when turning right at low speeds but it can also be heard slightly when turning left.

Ive checked the cv joints and they dont look shot or the boots arent ripped etc.

I had thought steering rack but I can see nothing leaking etc

Anyone any ideas? Im hoping for a worn suspension component or maybe a cv joint gone but just wanted to get some expert opinions first before it goes in.

Thanks,

Chris

Root cause was passenger drive shaft was knackered.

In getting sorted now so hopefully a sub £300 bill all being well Smile
