RR Virgin - What am I to expect ?

Good Morning and happy Easter.

I have just bought this 3.6 Vogue

I have never driven a RR before

It is being delivered next week

It comes with a warning message already on it, that’s standard apparently Laughing ! “check number plate light” so possibly an easy fix - let me know.

How much is tax ?

Any parts places near York ?

Thanks

Looking forwards to it....

Yep, you are in an exclusive club and exclusive clubs tend to be expensive but worthwhile - enjoy. Geoff

Are you married ?

Because after a couple of weeks you might not be. Laughing
They can be an expensive mistress if other owners have mistreated them in the past, so I hope the Long Haired General at home is very understanding.

Only Joking.... Welcome to the fold and enjoy your new love. You are now amongst friends. Thumbs Up Tony

A Trap

Flat batteries
Replacement alternators
Idler pulley failures
Air suspension issues
A load of spurious fault codes
Blue tooth issues
Water leaks into the rear over the electronics
Door handle cable failures
Fuel bills
Recovery bills

Ooh the joys 😇

I see EGR blanking in your future.

What is your battery voltage at rest, idle and at 2000 rpm?

I'd take it straight to Joe at http://www.jas-lr.co.uk/ for a once over preventative maintenance look over. He does gearbox Megaflushes to iirc.

Hmm

NOx is 355 on last MOT , apparently that’s not quite right and maybe a sensor in manifold or wastegate on turbo (so I’m told)

It’s done 76k

Body off job for turbo I think - 16 bolts and 1 multi connector....?

My wife loves 'hers' - to the extent that I'm not allowed to talk about replacing it with anything other than another FFRR.....

Welcome to the club.
I’ve used LR Trade Parts at Selby a few times (I think they used to be at Riccall as I once picked some parts up form there).

Have fun! 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀
2009 3.6 V8 (MY2010) - my first ever diesel! - now also gone Sad
2004 4.4 V8 Petrol Vogue - now gone

Ah, yes I know where that is - near Elvington way - will do.- thanks for the tip

I have a Audi with an 8 speed multitronic auto box and have spent 3k on a gearbox rebuild so I’d be keen to know if the box oil has been changed...

Brilliant Cool does she drive it ?

My 13 yr old daughter is most excited about it, however the wife probably won’t drive it , she has some difficulty in judging how long things are .... Laughing

Every car we have had she has “bumped into things” Rolling Eyes
